Junior Entries 66
Senior Entries 53
102 days to test Games ( Saturday 29 April 2017 )
The cash prize does not seem to be the main driver for entries – the expectation of the unknown and how the contestants will react when sitting at the boardroom table is the main driver.
“unlike any other debate I have ever participated in”
“is this what the real world is like after school”
“mom and dad will see and hear everything I say “
“maar ek is Afrikaans! Gaan ek moet boardroom praat “

How do I play the “Xcellence Boardroom Game”
An entertaining game that challenges participants in the various market industries in a case study approach. Make business decisions in a closed boardroom environment with your competitors while mom and dad listen on live video streaming at a secluded off site location. The panel of industry specific experts that include the sponsor of the category evaluates the game by only managing the rules. The answers and case studies are based on real life scenarios that have made the industry significant. The object of the game is to eliminate contestants in your boardroom and forcing decision making from the relevant limited information provided to participants by means of boardroom debate, voting or presentation skills.
When entering the challenge participants are requested to register under a category of their choice. The game then picks a scenario based on the outcome of an industry leading event. Participants are then invited in advance to a board meeting that constitutes a “game”. The invite clearly states what role in the incident the participant will play as well as some useful tips that the contestant requires to fulfil the role he or she is expected to play. The invite also includes the event detail and the participant have the opportunity to research the vent and prepare for the meeting. (note that invites can be sent out weeks or days before the board meeting allowing more or less time for preparation). Ten seats in the game, ten voting mandates only one winner. By understanding the event chosen by the game the contestants can predict the outcome. However this does not mean that the debate, presentation or voting in the game must have the same outcome of the event. If the outcome of the event was negative towards the player it is his or her goal to not have the same outcome. Or if the outcome was positive towards the player the goal is to keep the game on the same outcome. Example of this will be where the industry loses money based on a decision or vote, or where the accountable player ended up legally guilty. In this case the player will utilize every tool in their power to change the outcome. In short understanding the event outcome the player will determine how he or she will play the game.
The player with the most votes to their favour wins the game and is invited to the next game. Both Junior and Senior games have three trails and a final.
The contestants also have three lifelines to access during every game cycle that will cost them business IP, Cash flow or relationships.

What is “Xcellence Boardroom Games” or “Raadsaal Rondomtalie”
The founding constitutional mandate of GRcom (Pty) Ltd trading as “Xcellence Kindersentrum SA” is to assist financially active parents in the safeguard and upliftment of their kids in all communities of South Africa. This mandate is achieved in two main categories. The first is the after – school activities outlined by the center’s prospectus and the second is actively addressing increasing fear amongst scholars of securing suitable employment in the market to become financially active citizens of the Republic of South Africa. Then also employers searching for loyal and competent employees amongst a legislative driven workforce. Collectively we face as parents the statistics of scholars as it relates to pregnancies, suicide and organized crime in the transition from high school to the employment market.
To this end, the purpose of the “Xcellence Boardroom Games ” is to address the concept of building practical boardroom intelligence in our scholars but also to bringing the corporate business enterprises and their industry owners closer to the next generation of suitable workforce. All to the benefit of the country as a whole.
In short the project is allowing suitable candidates to engage industry leaders prior to committing possible formal tertiary education to insure emotional maturity and acceptance of the chosen industry. This is achieved via the “Xcellence Boardroom Games ”
The 2017 year has two categories
Junior Games where the winner received R 5 000.00 cash and the relevant school also R 5 000.00
Senior Games where the winner receives R 10 000.00 cash as well as R 10 000.00 cash for the winner’s school.
